A personal note from the photographer: The Arctic is peace. It is calm. It is quiet. The valleys may appear desolate at first glance, but they are filled with hidden life. Reindeer, graceful and resilient, occasionally grace us with their presence, their hooves crunching softly in the snow as they cross the icy terrain. We pause, allowing them to pass undisturbed, mindful of the delicate balance of life in this harsh environment. For these animals, the winter can be deadly with a changing climate.
