A personal note from the photographer: When you look at this photo, you may just see a beautiful animal. But for me, it’s something else entirely. My photos take me back to the moment of the capture. I’m reminded of how hard I worked that day to get in this position to even make this shot possible. On this day I put in a good 25 miles on the bike, and another 4-5 on foot through some tough terrain. I was EXHAUSTED. Nothing mattered though, as long a I captured the shot of my dreams of a bull caribou in the fall tundra of Denali NP. I still can’t believe how it all came together, and will forever be grateful for this experience.
