This image was taken in Great Bear Rainforest, British Columbia, Canada, 2019.
A personal note from the photographer: Fifteen minutes after first entering the rainforest, my hands shook fumbling with settings as this spirit bear sow, named Strawberry, and her black bear cub approached the downed log in the river. While taking the image, I felt so fortunate to have had the experience to admire and capture such a special moment in time.
